k22 studios started as a dream.
A shared vision of the founders: To create a place for musicians and artists like recording studios used to be in the golden days of recording. A place to come together, to share ideas, to develop new ideas and to create music.
I always feel there’s something magic in recording studios. There’s a reason good music continues to be made in them.
In a decade of digital home recording where even number 1 hits are created on a laptop in your bedroom, we believe that coming together in a recording studio is something a lot of musicians and artists are missing. A recording studio should be a special place, a place which inspires you, where you meet your friends, where you live your dream. We believe in the idea of a recording studio as a church for music.
This is the reason why we founded k22 studios and built a recording studio while most of our friends thought we might be crazy.

Christoph Mause

Christoph started his professional career in the late 1980ies when he dropped our of university and became a recording engineer and producer. He worked with bands such as Escape With Romeo, Secret Discovery or The Frits. In 1995 he founded an IT service company which he sold to IBM in 2015 to return back to the music business.
He is guitar player and songwriter to MAY and Paulinko.
Christoph is dedicated to analog recording and the driver behind k22 studios vintage gear collection.
Carsten Schmidt
Producer | Engineer
Being a professional guitar player, recording engineer and producer since the 1990ies Carsten worked for bands like Honig, Ralley, Sun, Vic Anselmo, Secret Discovery, Benevolent, Grind Inc., Supernature, Modulator, Black Mesa, In blackest Velvet, End of April, M. Walking on the water or Les hommes qui wear espandrillos.
Carstens runs Pelser&Schmidt, a professional audio visual rental company.
He plays bass and synths for MAY and is the musical mastermind of Leland P.

Phil Müller aka ATAIR.
Producer in residence
Phil is a well-know executive producer for several Hip Hop and Metal artists as well as a successful composer and sound designer for commercials and TV.
He exclusively works at k22 studios as a producer in residence and is available for your projects.
Klaus Schwerdt
Producer | Engineer
Klaus is a well-known FOH and recording engineer / producer for such bands as Sodom, Dew-Scented, Morgoth, F*cking Angry or Phantom Corporation.
He is our specialist for all kind of hard, heavy and loud.
Pe Krieger
Producer | Engineer
Pe has been working as product designer, composer and texter for many bands and artists since 1990. She worked with artists such as Wet Witches, Les Terroritas, Hal Wagner, Superheldin, Jeru or Daphne de Luxe.
Pe supports you primarily in the area of low and emotional sounds.
Patrick Pereira
Assistant Engineer
Patrick is a pedal addict and synth aficionado and besides his own projects Mediokrist and Rudy Chopper he writes music for commercials.
As an assistant engineer at k22 studios Patrick supports you with your projects.
Hermann Hense
Videographer
Hermann is a video enthusiast and supports the k22 studios team whenever there is a need of moving  pictures.
If you want to shoot video material from your recording or live session – he’s the man.
